High Efficiency Boilers vs High Efficiency Systems

What’s the difference between a high efficiency boiler and a high efficiency system?

The boiler just heats the water. They system around that boiler delivers that heat. Without the system, a boiler is nothing. If you replace an inefficient boiler, for example and 80% efficiency for a high efficiency boiler that runs at 95%, that great and you will see about 15 cents on every dollar you spend when that system is running.

You will not see that savings if your system isn’t distributing heat at peak efficiency. To perform at peak efficiency you need high efficiency circulator pumps that will deliver a 20⁰ Delta T or temperature difference from supply to return. We use a self modulating circulator either supply and return sensors that automatically adjust circulator speed to meet your Delta T requirements.

You also need a microbubble air eliminator, a hydronic separator or low loss header, and a magnetic filter to remove debris that can decrease system efficiency. You will also want zone valves to prevent ghost flow. When you put all of these things together you get a high efficiency system, not just a high efficiency boiler.

Let us help you maximize your savings and minimize your environmental footprint.
